I'm Cream Crackered
Just a quickie to reassure both of my readers that I'm not in fact dead, but simply short of time due to going self-employed and thus spending all of my time setting up my new business, plus doing a full-time new job as a newly emerged IT contractor.
Normal service, including my fascinating and trenchant thoughts on how truly awful the TV series Bad Girls is and why air conditioning isn't all it's cracked up to be, will resume shortly(ish).

Good luck with the new venture Stuart!
Yeah, and good luck watching Bad Girls - rather you than me, as they say ;)
I never took you for a chocolatier, Stuart. Hmmph.
Oh I'm no choclatier - I'm an IT geek of sorts currently, although since graduating from Uni I've worked on a farm, in a chocolate factory, in a Zoo and in a kids toy department.
I reckon if I can only be a spaceman someday I'll have fulfilled all my childhood job ambitions :)
SAF: "good luck watching Bad Girls"
Ha - fortunately the line 'I killed the copper who was raping me girlfriend' (spoken by the unfeasibly pretty Mandana Jones, the only bright spot in the whole sorry show) was too much even for J, with the result that we're now watching season 3 of the West Wing instead.

Phew. Lucky escape there, matey.
Hi Stuart. Just to let you know I'm finally back online after the old computer gave up the ghost! I could use your help in fixing it as I'm in danger of losing everything stored on it!! Anyway, this is my first comment on your Blog using the all-singing all-dancing new one!!!
Caught the beginning of one episode of "Bad Girls" and thought the Mayor of Cardiff was going to unzip her forehead!
Thank you for your recent encouraging kind words. Much appreciated.
Tim
You should sell TKG chocolate bars someday.
I wonder if RTD considered there might be a reason why the Daleks have never done battle with the Cybermen in the past. Whichever race wins you risk alienating fans of the other. Robert Holmes wouldn't have touched the idea with a bargepole. He would've possibly cited too many leading villains as a reason for abstinence!
I'm not looking forward to the Xmas special or the next series. The teaser at the end of "Doomsday" filled me with dread and the fact that the Xmas special involves Henriks is worrying. It suggests RTD won't let go of the past and is afraid to start again from scratch. Freema, as Martha, will only be as good as Russell allows her to be.
If you haven't seen "UFO", you're in for a treat when you do. It isn't entirely consistent in the motivation of the aliens but could teach a certain Exec Producer a thing or two about structuring 45-minute episodes. "The Psychobombs" is one of my favourite episodes of any TV series ever and most, if not all, of the episodes are eminently rewatchable.
Congratulations on your new company, and I hope it goes well!

Well, it's going well so far in terms of work involved, although actually getting paid for anything is a necessarilly drawn out business at first :)
