Saddest Comic Strip Ever (no hyperbole)

Courtesy of the very talented Graham Linehan, the last Calvin and Hobbes comic strip*

Click here for the saddest three panels ever commited to print.

* It's fake, presumably - surely Bill Watterson couldn't be that cruel?

Sad indeed. You could argue that it would be a very good way to end it, it certainly reflects growing up very well. We all move on, stop being interested in toys, stop getting toys for our Christmas, stupid lifeless things that they are...

My toy Dalek, not one of those Gold things but a good old-fashioned silver one with blue balls, takes on a life of its own, especially at night... in the dark...

Just wanted to wish you and yours a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Enjoyed your posts and comments, on both your site and mine, over the year and have missed your opinion of late, though I understand that is probably because of your extra work load. Hope to read you more in 2007, time permitting, as it's nice to have the exchanges as well as one's irony understood!
